There are lots of ways in which you can help keep our lovely windmill going.
Windmill Guides and other Volunteers
We can only keep Dereham Windmill open to the public through the work of the Windmill Guides and other Volunteers who work with the Dereham Windmill Charity.
Being a Windmill Guide is our most important role. Guides look after visitors to the mill, when we are open – on a Friday and Saturday and some Sundays - Our more experienced Guides will escort visitors around the windmill explaining how the mill worked. But if you aren’t yet a windmill expert, don’t worry. Some Guides base themselves on the ground floor and allow visitor to explore the mill at their own pace.
We hope Guides will be available for one afternoon or morning each month, or more if you wish, but our roster is very flexible.
If you can’t make it regularly to the mill there are lots of other ways in which you could help – keeping our website and Facebook page up to date, making & distributing posters, helping at events and a host of other jobs as well.
